Nestled in the heart of Laikipia at the foot of Mt. Kenya is Saddlebags Adventures, a stable of exceptional horses and a rustic ranch-style house. Friendly and personal, every stay and ride is hosted by the owners of the business, two young Kenyan women. Saddlebags Adventures offers a variety of packages: from catered and self-catered stays, horseback safari packages or simply a 2-hour, half-day or full-day horseback riding option. During this time you will have the opportunity to see incredible wildlife on horseback rides through one of Kenya’s best wilderness spaces, or simply sit back and enjoy the spectacle from our stunning house or riverside.

The Rides

We are surrounded by the most phenomenal wildlife with sightings of rhino, elephant, grevy’s zebra, wild dogs, cheetah, leopard, giraffe and many more. Each ride you take with us is guaranteed to be memorable and always different.

The House

Our rustic Ranch house provides the perfect spot to switch off, relax and watch the world go by. Incredible game viewing from the upper deck with the majestic Mount Kenya providing the perfect back drop.

The Team

The Saddlebags, Roanna and Claudia, are both young Kenyan women brought up in Laikipia. They personally guide every ride and ensure you are matched with a horse that suits you. Our horses are well schooled, wildlife savvy and immaculately cared for ensuring your experience will be an unforgettable one.
